Program CoordinatorDuties:
- Responsible for the overall coordination and day-to-day
operation of the Friendship House Peer Support Center.
- Coordinates referral, completes intake, and performs
psychiatric rehabilitation services (group modality) for the
Psychiatric Rehabilitation program.
- Ensures that all funding and Licensure requirements are met.JOB
PURPOSE/SUMMARYSummary of role of team:
- The program supervised by this position, by virtue of the
persons they serve, represent a place where the Centers vision is
lived out on a day-to-day basis.
- The severe and persistently mentally ill (SPMI) population
truly embodies the poorest of the poor and the sickest of the
sick.
- Therefore, it is the philosophy of recovery services to live up
to this vision by reaching out to the SPMI, regardless of what
situation they are in or where they are and open a door of
stability through mental health treatment.
- Staff members assist in ensuring that the consumer/natural
support is able to access both cost effective and quality services.
Summary of position:
- The Peer Support Center Coordinator is responsible for the
overall coordination and day-to-day operation of the Friendship
House Peer Support Center.
- The PSC Coordinator coordinates referral, completes intake, and
performs psychiatric rehabilitation services (group modality) for
the Psychiatric Rehabilitation program.
- The PSC Coordinator is responsible for providing direct
supervision to the Leaders on Duty/Certified Peer Support
Specialist, managing the volunteers, managing the cafeteria, and
managing the suspension process.
- The PSC Coordinator ensures that all funding and Licensure
requirements are met.
- Assists in providing peer support groups.

empowerment, normalization, rehabilitation, and continuity of
care.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT
- This position is an office-based position.
- Staff members are provided with all equipment necessary to
complete their job duties on-site in their assigned office.
- This position is located at the Friendship House.
- Work may also be conducted in the community as needed for
client care.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES1. Ensure TDMHSAS Scope of Services is met.
- Ensure a minimum of 64 recovery education classes are offered
yearly as evidenced by monthly report.
- Ensure a minimum of 12 social activities are offered yearly as
evidenced by monthly report.
- Ensure a minimum of 48 support groups are offered yearly as
evidenced by monthly report.
- Ensure a minimum of 4 community service activities are offered
annually as evidenced by monthly report.
- Ensure a minimum of 64 physical activities yearly are offered
as evidenced by monthly report.
- Ensure that WRAP is offered to 10 members per year.
- Ensure that all staff members received all required trainings
within timeframes established by TDMHSAS
- Obtain Certification as a CPRS.2. Ensure that Health Department
Kitchen Standards are followed and met.
- Ensure that kitchen staff members are trained in safe food
handling training by the Health Department.
- Maintain at least an 80% overall health rating score.3.
Coordinate PSC Staff
- Select, train & develop PSC staff as evidenced by
checklist.
- Ensure all staff are aware of scheduled changes each week.
- Provide coverage when necessary.
- Conduct team meetings bi-weekly as evidenced by team meeting
notes.4. Plan, organize meal schedule with members and staff
- Post meal schedule in monthly calendar.
- Review member suggestion board for meals monthly.5. Manage PSC
Budget
- Ensure line item maintains a positive balance and notifies
supervisor of concerns.
- Ensures Expense requests and receipts are obtained and turned
in a timely manner.6. Develop PSC volunteers
- Select and train volunteers.
- Conduct volunteer meetings as needed.7. Complete monthly and
quarterly reports
- Ensure reports are completed by the 15th of the month and
quarterly reports are completed in a timely manner.8. Promotes and
maintains positive teamwork.
- Organizes and develops team cohesion.
- Demonstrates consideration and concern for fellow workers and
promotes harmonious
relationships and attitudes.
- Gives and receives appropriate feedback.
- Communicates directly and approaches conflict with a
problem-solving approach.9. Complete all Psychiatric Rehabilitation
program documentation in compliance with MCO's and licensure
standards.
- Maintains update on service plan initially first 3 months and
every 6 months thereafter.
- Ensures that all documentation is clinically relevant,
detailed, and applicable to the service.
- Demonstrates strong evidence of the "golden thread" from
assessment to treatment plan to group progress notes.
- Submits all EMR documentation within 2 days of the
occurrence.
- Complete updates and intakes as scheduled.COMPENSATION:
- Starting salary for this position is approximately $18.46/hr
based on relevant experience and education.Schedule:
- This position has a regular schedule of Monday - Friday 8a.m.
until 5p.m.
- This position is on-call when the PSC is open, including
weekends and holidays.
- In person daily attendance is essential for this position
except in instances of approved time off.
- This position may be required to attend events outside of the
standard schedule.Travel:
- This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle
to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is
a condition of employment.
- Staff members may be required to provide transportation in
their personal vehicle and staff members are reimbursed for use of
their vehicle for this purpose.
- This position may be required to travel to out of state
conferences/meetings as applicable.Equipment/Technical Competency:
- This position requires utilizing a personal dependable vehicle
to conduct Center business.
- Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is
a condition of employment.
- This position does require high level computer skills for
timekeeping, scheduling and use of electronic medical records
entry, and extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products
(Word/Excel/Outlook).Equipment/Technology:
- This position does require high level computer skills for

Products (Word/Excel/Outlook).QUALIFICATIONS - Peer Support Center
Program CoordinatorExperience / Knowledge:
- Must be a person with lived experience in the mental health
system.
- Experience in providing social and recreation activities is
desirable.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience serving people with mental illness and/or
co-occurring disorders is desirable.Education / License:
- Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in a health-related
field of counseling, psychology, social work, sociology, or a
behavioral science field with course work or experience in the
areas of cultural diversity, human development, etiology and
treatment of mental illness, alcohol and drug abuse, physical and
sexual abuse, suicide, and intellectual disabilities.
- Must be a current Tennessee Certified Peer Recovery Specialist
or have the ability to become certified within 1 year of
hire.Physical/Emotional/Social - Skills/Abilities:
- Exposure to biological hazards.
- Hearing of normal and soft tones.
- Close eye work.
- Valid driver's license- F endorsement.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and
reaching.
- Required to be certified in, and effectively implement, verbal
and physical de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of
bodily movements; including but not limited to, grasping, holding
another person, going down on knees, running, and walking.Location:
