Navigator today!The Criminal Justice NavigatorDuties: Responsible
for conducting comprehensive clinical assessments to determine
inmate eligibility of MAT services inside the Jefferson County
Justice Center, work with inmates to develop an appropriate release
plan which will include continuation of MAT services, other
necessary treatment and social service needs. Schedule appointments
within jail MAT provider. Monitor MAT participants while in custody
to address concerns surrounding MAT and other needs. Remain in
contact with client to ensure they are following up with release
plan, to include MAT treatment.Train corrections staff on substance
use and process for intake procedures inside the Jefferson County
Justice Center. JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARYSummary of role of team: The
mission of the Criminal Justice Navigator is to provide
comprehensive clinical assessments to individuals in the Jefferson
County Justice Center to determine inmate eligibility of MAT
services while incarcerated.Summary of position: Provide
comprehensive clinical assessments to determine inmate eligibility
of MAT services inside the Jefferson County Justice Center, work
with inmates to develop appropriate release plans which include
continuation of MAT services, other necessary treatment and social
service needs.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENTThis position
is working directly in the Jefferson County Justice Center. Staff
member is provided with all equipment necessary to complete job
duties as assigned. Staff members participate in Treatment Team and
Team Meetings as outlined by their supervisor upon hire.JOB
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThis job description is not intended to be

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESReceive referrals from jail booking
staff.Screen referred individuals for appropriateness for
MAT.Complete substance use assessment on referred individuals to
determine appropriateness for MAT while in custody.Develop and
coordinate release plans for appropriate individuals that include
linkage and referral to behavioral health and/or recovery support
services; and other community supports.Schedule appointments with
MAT provider while in custody.Meet with individual and MAT provider
while MAT provider completes H&P.Coordinate with jail personnel
and jail medical once individual is added to the program.Follow-up
with individual while in custody.Availability to maintain contact
with individual for up to six months' post release.Record
individual's contact data in TNWITS to include Screening, ASI Lite,
Trauma Screening (if trauma is indicated on the ASI Lite), a
release plan and case management notes for each individual
referred.Respond to emails and voicemails within 2 business
days.Maintain positive relationship with jail personnel, jail
medical staff, MAT provider and social worker, and outside
community resources.Provide trainings to jail personnel on
substance use and MAT as needed.Attendance with bi-weekly
supervision and monthly team meeting.Complete bi-monthly reporting
as required.COMPENSATION: Starting salary for this position is
approximately $52,488 /yr based on relevant experience and
education.Schedule: This position has a regular schedule of
Monday-Friday 8am until 5pm. There is no on-call for this position
and employee is off on Center designated holidays. Job duties are
performed on location at the Jefferson County Justice
Center.Travel: This position requires utilizing a personal
dependable vehicle to conduct Center business. Maintaining a
dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a condition of
employment. Staff members are reimbursed for use of their vehicle
for travel.Equipment/Technical Competency: This position requires
utilizing a personal dependable vehicle to conduct Center business.
Maintaining a dependable vehicle and certified driver status is a
condition of employment. This position does require basic computer
skills for timekeeping and use of electronic medical records

records entry.QUALIFICATIONS - Criminal Justice NavigatorExperience
/ Knowledge: One-year experience in the social work field and/or
behavioral health and criminal justice setting preferred.Education
/ License: Graduation from an accredited college or university with
a Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy,
Psychology, Social Work, or other related field of study.
Candidates with a Master's in other fields of study must have
fifteen college-level semester hours of coursework in behavioral
health and at least one year of work experience in the behavioral
health setting.Physical/Emotional/Social -
Skills/Abilities:Exposure to biological hazards. Hearing of normal
and soft tones. Close eye work. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs., frequent sitting, standing,
walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. This position requires
certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical
de-escalation techniques that include a wide range of bodily
movements including but not limited to grasping, holding another
person, getting down on knees, running, and walking. CPR
certification is required but can be trained upon
