Job Description:
A company is looking for an ED Coding Specialist responsible for
accurately coding emergency department services.
Key Responsibilities
Perform outpatient facility coding for emergency room, observation,
and ancillary services
Resolve coding edits and denials related to evaluation and
management and surgical coding
Maintain accurate record keeping and identify trends for reporting
to management
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum of one year of experience in relevant coding areas
Possession of at least one recognized coding certification (CPC,
COC, CIC, CCS, or CCS-P)
Understanding of healthcare billing practices and compliance
Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
