nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a local contract nursing
job in Brevard, North Carolina.Job Description & Requirements
- Number of Beds -30
- Number of Staff - 40+
- Type of staff:
o Day Shift - 1 Charge/ CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs
o Night Shift - 1 Charge/ CNC; 4-5 RNs/LPNs, 2-3 NAs
- Patient Ratios - SD/ICU 2-4:1; Med-Surg: 5-6:1; 2-3 PCT on floor
as appropriate
- Type of equipment - IV pumps, SCDs, Nova Stat glucometer, wound
vac, Baxter feeding pump, Lift equipment as appropriate, Pyxis
(nurses only)
- EMR -Cerner
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for:
Must have
- All RNs must have BLS, ACLS completed prior to end of
orientation
- PCT/NAs are required to have BLS
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be
considered first.
- RNs with ICU/Stepdown experience
- Staff with 1 year med/surg experience is preferred
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
- IV starts , CVL, Arterial lines
- Foley catheters
- EKG monitoring
- Wound care

- Able to function in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. We
