Job Description:
The University of Tennessee, Graduate School of Medicine based
in Knoxville, Tennessee seeks a dynamic GI medical Oncologist and a
GU medical Oncologist to join the faculty as a member of the GU
malignancy program. The Division of Hematology Oncology is a part
of the department of medicine and dedicated to the tripartite
mission of clinical care, research and education. The candidate
must possess strong leadership and organizational skills and an
interest in clinical trials. A track record of substantive clinical
research and scholarly activity is highly preferred. This position
is a non-tenure track, academic appointment. Academic rank,
compensation and appointments will be commensurate with applicant s
experience and qualifications.
The division of Hematology Oncology is a rapidly growing division
within the department of medicine. The Cancer Institute has
registered over 70,000 patient visits with over 3,000 new patients
with cancer diagnosed annually. In-hospital consultations are
provided at UT Medical Center, a leading regional academic medical
center. The chosen individuals will be supported by protected time
for research, an active clinical trials infrastructure and strong
programs in urology, surgical oncology, GU pathology, GI pathology
and radiation oncology.
The candidates must be board certified by the American Board of
Internal Medicine in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology. Candidates
must have a commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.
Qualifications include eligibility to obtain a license to practice
medicine in Tennessee. Candidates with international visa status
will be considered on an individual basis.
